About the event
WINTER RECHARGE
A Nervous System Reset Day Retreat
A gentle invitation to slow down, soften, and restore.
Winter is nature’s cue to turn inward - to rest more deeply, move more slowly, and replenish what’s been depleted. Yet modern life rarely gives us permission to truly pause.
Winter Recharge is a deeply restorative day retreat designed to support your nervous system through the colder months, helping you release tension, regulate stress, and reconnect with a sense of calm and clarity.
Now in its fourth year, this retreat has become a trusted space for those seeking grounded, practical wellbeing - not high energy, not “fixing”, just space to breathe, reset, and feel supported.
Held at Yoga House in Orewa, a peaceful historic space beside a quiet stream with bush reserve and the ocean close by, the environment naturally invites you to slow down and settle.
What to Expect
This day is intentionally low-demand and nourishing, supporting your body’s natural rest and restore response.
You’ll be guided through:
Opening Circle – A gentle arrival to ground, connect, and set the tone for the day
Nervous System Education – Simple, relatable insights into stress, regulation, and energy
Recharge Yoga – A blend of Yin, Restorative, and floor-based movement to release tension and support joint health
Breathwork (Pranayama) – Accessible techniques to calm the mind and body
Walking Meditation (weather permitting) – A mindful nature walk to integrate the morning practices
Reflective Journaling – Guided prompts to explore energy, boundaries, and what restoration looks like for you right now
Individual Reiki-Infused Mini Neck & Shoulder Massage – A short, personal session combining hands-on massage with gentle Reiki energy to support deep relaxation
Yoga Nidra Meditation – A deeply restorative closing practice that supports subconscious rest, helping to soften habitual stress patterns and gently shift unhelpful self-beliefs
Closing Circle – Time to integrate, reflect, and leave feeling grounded and restored
Nourishment
You’ll be supported throughout the day with:
A wholesome vegetarian lunch
An all-day grazing platter with nourishing snacks
Herbal teas and refreshments
You’ll also leave with a small, thoughtful gift to take the feeling of the day home with you.

Not at all. All practices are guided, gentle, and adaptable. You’re encouraged to listen to your body, take breaks, and rest whenever you need.
Is this retreat spiritual or “woo”?
The day is grounded and practical. While there is space for reflection and inner awareness, everything is offered in a relatable, down-to-earth way with no pressure to believe or subscribe to anything.

Absolutely. Many people attend solo. The space is warm, welcoming, and supportive, and you’ll never be put on the spot. I’ve also had people attend as friends, couples, siblings, and parent/child pairs.
Are men welcome?
Yes — absolutely. Wellness is for every body. While my retreats often attract more women, men are very welcome and often bring a really balanced, grounded energy to the group.
